• Debt management & settlement companies

A complete summary of current obligations within DSI’s database will be generated for each new DMP/DSA consumer record provided, revealing the amount of each indebtedness component and to whom individual amounts are owed.

  • Debt buyers, agencies & law firms

For debt buyers, DSI represents the more precise means to model portfolio purchases. For collection entities, DSI facilitates the internal segmenting of newly assigned portfolios and electronically identifies immediate settlement opportunities.

  • Credit Grantors

Although potential applications are virtually unlimited, the DSI database will prove especially helpful in assessing portfolio values, determining contingency rates, segmenting accounts, assigning placement life cycles and maximizing recoveries.

Better decisions; better results.

Debt Buyers

Debt Buyers are an integral part in the dynamic relationship between credit and collection as they provide an immediate solution for creditors’ past due obligations. Yet, with the exception of put backs, Debt Buyers work within a “no returns” environment – once made, the financial commitment to purchase a particular portfolio must be primarily offset by the collection results obtained from the consumers within that portfolio.

Consequently, assigning a fair but realistic value to every portfolio is critical. Any miscalculation will result in unavoidable losses and possibly limit future opportunities. For these reasons, DSI represents the more precise means to accurately complete the due diligence process and model portfolio purchases.

For example, let’s assume that two portfolios are under consideration. Using the DSI database, it’s determined that one portfolio has several times the number of consumers currently participating in DMP/DSA programs. All other factors being equal, the portfolio with higher DMP/DSA participation would clearly represent the more valuable, safer and immediate opportunity.

Once utilized, the DSI database will also prove invaluable in effectively segmenting the portfolio and prudently assigning these segments to the Debt Buyer’s most appropriate collection entities. From beginning to end, DSI will be of enormous assistance to Debt Buyers by ensuring that their purchasing decisions yield consistently improved results.

Agencies & Law Firms

Collection Agencies and Law Firms will also derive significant benefits from DSI. As new portfolios are assigned, these consumers can be compared against the DSI database to instantaneously identify current participants in a DMP/DSA program. Thus, in a fraction of the time that would otherwise be required to manually contact more than 1,000 companies, you will know what immediate settlement opportunities exist.

This information will facilitate the internal segmenting of new portfolios, increasing net recoveries, generating greater commissions and improving tier rankings. Knowledge is power, and the knowledge of DMP/DSA participation will dramatically enhance overall collection results.
